My name is Andrew Abado, and I was born and raised in Acre (Akko), one of the most diverse and historically rich cities in the region. My mother's roots run deep in Akko itself, while my father's family originally came from Kafr Bir'im, a village in the Galilee. They settled in Akko in the early 1950s, just after the establishment of the State of Israel. I attended Terrasanta, a private Christian school nestled in the heart of Akko’s Old City. Later, I earned a dual B.A. in Archaeology and Geography from Haifa University, combining my passion for landscapes and layers of human history. Today, I’m excited to share with you the stories, architecture, and living heritage of my hometown, from ancient empires to modern life.
