Come with me on a live virtual walking tour of Saint Mark’s Square and its quarter in Venice, Italy! We’ll begin at the main square of Venice which boasts the Basilica of Saint Mark, the Doge’s Palace, and the famous Bell and Clock Towers. Taking in the view, I’ll share with you the stories of Doges and the execution pillars while we explore the fine details of the surrounding architectural magnificence. From the lagoon, adorned with its gondolas, we’ll enjoy the Bridge of Sighs as we discover the first king and kingdom of Italy and his Venetian connection. Crossing to the Church of Saint Zaccaria, I’ll share with you a bit of history about the curiously cheerful nuns who lived at this convent. Finally, we will arrive at the production shop of an artisan Venetian mask maker (subject to change due to shop opening hours) and learn about the history and modern celebration of Carnival. Join me on this fantastic adventure through the most enchanting city on earth!
