Savannah's Landmark Historic District includes 22 picturesque squares. Not every one of them contains a monument, but every square on Bull Street does. Let me give you an overview of the city's history as her citizens expressed it via public art throughout the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. We'll begin in Forsyth Park; I'll show you monuments that open up conversations about the Civil War, slavery, the Revolutionary War, industrialization, and our unusual colonial beginnings. We'll finish up all the way at the opposite end of the Historic District on River Street.
